Rested...

Okay, I am now officially back from vacation. We were in the mountains. We were at the coast. We entertained family and friends (even a Marble friend who came to NC). We ate. Oh boy, did I eat! I spent a month in The Land of All Things Fried, and I had everything they offered... twice!
Today I was back to work. Mind you, I worked while away – writing, Worship planning, reading resumes, phone calls with staff, e-mails, phone calls to hospitals and homes where there was sickness, etc. But, I also rested... and swam... and read just for the fun of reading... and visited... and, as noted, ate! So, apparently I returned to the office not only rested but also rusty. I say that because of a clerical mistake I made this afternoon. I clicked on the computer and saw about a gazillion unanswered e-mails, including seventy-two in the SPAM folder. (Admittedly, most things that show up in Spam get summarily deleted. However, every day at least one or two important personal or church-related letters mysteriously wind up in Spam. So, I always carefully look through it before deleting.) Today I hit a button, assuming I would access the Spam file, but instead proceeded inadvertently to delete the whole thing. The entire Spam file and everything in it disappeared. It is irretrievable. Gone. Finis. Kaput. With my luck, one of the e-mails I lost was sent to inform me that I had won the Publishers' Clearinghouse Sweepstakes.
Anyway, I'm back. Rested... if, also, somewhat rusty. But that will soon pass. Meanwhile, I'm excited about being back with you in Worship at WeWo and on Sunday mornings, as well as about gearing up for the new program year (which is only a month away). I hope your summer has been a time for renewal, physically and spiritually. And, if you fail to receive my response to an e-mail you recently sent, please don't think I'm rude. Not rude... rusty. Or, maybe it's just my typing skills. A month's worth of handling fried chicken coats the fingers, you know.
I'm truly happy to be back with you. |
