New Year's Resolution

Do you ever feel like you're not there yet?
You're headed somewhere in life. You may even have a vaguely clear idea of where it is you're going and a few of the ways that you might, eventually, get there... but what you know for sure is that, as of now, you're definitely not there yet.
It's amazing that I still feel this way. I have a job that I went to grad school for. I am married. I had a dog that I traded in for two beautiful kids. I have dental insurance, for crying out loud. Aren't I here?
But I'm not there yet. I often feel on the move, unsettled.
You know when I do feel settled? When I spend quality time with others. There is simply nothing that makes a person feel settled better than being known.
If you make one faith resolution this year, perhaps it could be this one: become known here at Marble. Be here. Be yourself. Participate. Contribute. Set up coffee dates. Volunteer. Go to Bible Study. Connect.
It may be the one thing you do that provides stability in the midst of life's perpetual transitions. |

Rev. David; how complimentary is your invitation, with the person that you are. If I could only live the life that you live. Every time I recite Psalm 23, the part where one says "and I shall dwell in the House of the Lord, for ever and ever." that Rev. David, is my desire. If not in now, surely in the here after. Yet, somehow the life that I was given was corrupted. Multiply that by the many more children living that same life, and it's a wonder that anyone survives it, and even enter salvation. Now as an adult I find fault with the ("general Christian) congregation (s), because it played a huge role in my childhood, and because it failed in my childhood. No matter! Christ never failed me, and He continues to rule over my life, and I find every person that I have met at the Marble a blessing. I should make a greater effort to be at service, Sunday mornings. I feel a love and respect for the Reform Church, and place a great burden on the shoulders of the leadership and Body of the Church, here in the United States, and through out the world. I find the Church underestitmates it's influence on the family, and within communities. I feel it should play a greater role in society. Then, those that lead in the Body of Christ need to socializie the services of the Body of Christ. Remember, I told you about the building in Union City (Hudson County), NJ, and there are several Reform Churches here, in Hudson County, all requiring travel time.
Well, Rev. David, just a few words today, God Bless and Hopely, I will see you this Sunday. A reminder to the readers of your blogg to write a check ($$$) to the Marble, for the efforts to restore basic needs in Haiti; as you know Haiti has suffered a blow; yet their faith is heard in song and prayers throughout the streets of devastation. It is reported in the Cable News Shows. As Christians and members of the Body of Christ, we can make true for our Haitian bothers and sisiters; "though I walk to the valleys, of the shadows of death, I shall fear no evil for Thou, are with me" through donations that support our mission that support NGOs in Haiti. God Bless.

well.....does it count if I spend quality time at Marble online? It stands to reason that you don't treasure what you have untill it is no longer there. I have certainly learned that lesson the hard way with Marble. I love the path I am on, but I certainly have nostalgic pangs already for the old path I left in the wood. Marble is a special place.
