Minister: Nicodemus "Lesley" Setshedi (pronounced Set sedi)
Members: 200 (approx)
Rev. Setshedi has been minister at DS nine years and attended engineering school before he was called to ministry. He and his wife Lizzy have three children. Lizzy hopes to become a social worker.
DS is located in a poor neighborhood. Windows are routinely broken and the church has been burglarized several times. Losses include eight sewing machines used for income generating projects. Marble's Easter Offering funded a much-needed repainting of the church interior.
Located on church grounds is a two-car garage, half of which houses a day care center. The center has a full-time teacher and principal and serves about 43 children daily. Although families are requested to pay a small fee, many cannot afford it and the fee is waived resulting in the center rarely meeting its expenses. The DS congregation prays for the day care center to be housed in its own building on a lot adjacent to the church.
