Hope & Healing - Remembering 9/11

I lift up my eyes to the hills—from where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

- Psalm 121:1-2 NSRV

Hope and Healing on the Tenth Anniversary of 9/11
Reach out to your neighbors and friends and invite them to join our Marble Collegiate Church family as we commemorate the Tenth Anniversary of 9/11 with a special day of events to remember, let us find hope amidst the tragedy and help each other on the on-going journey of healing.

The day begins with the tolling of our church bells at the times the planes hit and Poling Chapel will open for quite reflection. Sister Carol Perry returns for her first Bible Study of the church year and explores the Biblical theme of Remembrance. "Memories and Lessons" is the focus of Dr. Michael Brown's conversation with Imam Shamsi Ali and Rabbi Michael S. Friedman for our annual Trialogue.

Our Sanctuary will be open in the afternoon for the community, much as it was on 9/11 and the days after, and there will be multiple opportunities to view the powerful video Voices of Hope & Healing that shares some stories of members from all the Collegiate Churches.

We pray that, in the end, the enduring legacy of 9/11 is not grief and despondency, but remembrance, hope and healing.
