Advent - Wednesday, December 24
Posted on December 24, 2014 by Sister Carol Perry

All went to their own towns to be registered. Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem... - Luke 2:3-4

As they drew ever closer to Bethlehem, Joseph’s worries must have multiplied before the reality he was facing. A crowded town offers no privacy. God has seemingly forgotten the reservations. Somehow Joseph finds that place with an animal’s manger, empty except for some straw that no animal wanted. There are no interested neighbors such as Zechariah and Elizabeth had for baby John. There are just two apprehensive young people praying that God be with them in this hour.

In prayer, let us wait with them, alone, for the Child.
