And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger. - Luke 2:7

Mary swaddles the child as she has seen her neighbors do, and Joseph plumps up the straw to receive him. God’s incredible idea has brought Emmanuel among us. Nothing on this earth will ever again be the same. We come in awe to this place as we whisper: “What child is this, who laid to rest, on Mary’s lap is sleeping?”
