Lent - Thursday, February 11

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored?
- Matthew 5:13

It is good to remember at the beginning of this Lenten season, that Jesus has such high hopes for us. We can be and are meant to be salt, that savor that doesn’t have color or aroma, but whose presence and, by contrast, absence, can mean so much. It is such a definition of the place of the believer in life.

Today let us pray that we might try to live up to His expectations of us.
