In Memoriam - Dr. Edwin G Mulder
Dr. Edwin G. Mulder, a bright light in the life of Marble for decades, died peacefully Tuesday morning, May 1, 2018, at 89 years old.
Dr. Mulder was a spiritual giant, with a down-to-earth grace that touched countless individuals at Marble and around the world. First serving Marble in 1968, he returned again and again through 2007. During his time at Marble Dr. Mulder guided the creation and installation of five new stained glass windows, directed the endowment campaign, served as interim Senior Minister, interim Minister for Pastoral Care, led program ministries including the Marble Young Adults/Connection and Marble Marrieds, and so much more.
Beyond Marble, Dr. Mulder served as the General Secretary of the Reformed Church in America, was involved in the movement to dismantle apartheid in South Africa and encouraged churches to welcome LGBTQ people for who they are.
Always serving beside him in ministry was Ed’s beloved wife, Luella. We will be forever grateful to both of them for their years of selfless service to Marble Church. Our prayers are with Luella and the entire Mulder family.
A memorial service will be held at Marble at some point in the future. We will provide information when the details are set.
