Arts Ministry: Tamar (The Two-Gated City)

The Marble Loft (274 Fifth Ave)
Thursday, March 15, 2018
6:45 pm – 9:00 pm

The Marble Arts Ministry hosts this staged reading of the play, Tamar (The Two-Gated City), by Award-winning playwright Emma Goldman-Sherman and featuring two-time Helen Hayes Award Recipient Salma Shaw with songs directed by Keisha Kogan. Goldman-Sherman creates timeless yet relevant, feminist work that provokes/engages on multiple levels to acknowledge/heal what our culture denies and/or refuses to address. Tamar is about two rape culture Bible stories, re-imagined from a female perspective.

Moderated discussion and Q&A to follow the performance led by Rev. Barbara Crafton. We hope you will join us for this dramatic, healing journey.

Cost: $15. A light dinner will be available for an additional $5. You can register online here or during Coffee Hour at the Arts Ministry Table.
