Rabbi Jeremy Kalmanofsky
"Heartbreak and Hope: The Hebrew Prophets "

Rabbi Jeremy Kalmanofsky from Ansche Chesed Synagogue will explore the role of the prophets in Judaism.

Jeremy Kalmanofsky arrived at Ansche Chesed in 2001. Rabbi Kalmanofsky was ordained in 1997 by The Jewish Theological Seminary of America, where he was a Wexner Graduate Fellow. He regularly publishes essays on Jewish thought and practice, and he serves on the Conservative movement's Committee on Jewish Law and Standards.

September 29, Justin Meyers of the Al Amana Center in Oman will present on the importance of the prophets in Islam.

Justin graduated from Western Seminary in 2003. After serving pastorates in upstate New York and New York City he came to the Al Amana Centre in the summer of 2013. He is passionate about bringing people from different religions and cultures together to learn about each other and to break harmful stereotypes. He is joined in Oman by my wife, Stephanie, and their two sons. He is currently working on a MA in Peacebuilding and Reconciliation from University of Winchester in the U.K.

The great vision of the Hebrew prophets is of God – and the people of God – at work even in times of moral havoc and national upheaval. Join us for this four-week series in the 10:00am bible study, from September 8 to 29. Join us for a light continental breakfast and stimulating conversation!
