Rev. Barbara Crafton’s Lenten Devotional

Many people like to read a little something at the beginning of each day. Marble’s Spiritual Teacher, Rev. Barbara Cawthorne Crafton, has written many such books, and one of them, LIVING LENT, is especially intended for the weeks leading up to Easter. If interested, you can purchase it ($8.00) at the MarbleVision Table Sundays during Coffee Hour.

Lenten Prayer Practice

The Marble Prayer Ministry Team invites you to use the Prayer Room (29th St lobby/next to Reception) during Lent for one hour per week commitments to pray for others and yourself. Please sign-up for specific times on the clipboard in the Prayer Room. Of course you may also pray wherever you are during that time. Another way to prepare yourself to draw closer to God is through some form of fasting, whether it be from a certain food, electronics, criticism, etc. Please consider enriching your Lenten journey with these powerful commitments.

Music is a gift that helps us travel through all sorts of journeys in our lives. And Jazz, that quintessentially American form that transcends generations, can uniquely put us in touch with our yearnings. The heart’s hunger and the deep hope that lives inside – songs the soul sings in the middle of the night. As the work week ends and the day’s light fades, join us for this special musical vespers with a message, “Steal Away”, by Rev. Barbara Cawthorne Crafton and sacred Blues led by Jazz pianist Chris Whittaker and friends.
