Become part of the 2017-18 Marble Music Ministry by volunteering in either the Festival of Voices and/or the Marble Community Gospel Choir!
Marble Festival of Voices, Kenneth Dake, director: Wednesday evening rehearsals start September 13th. Includes singing in Worship once a month, the Advent Concert on Sunday, December 10th, Good Friday Worship with orchestra on March 30th, and other special events. Prospective volunteers should have some prior choral experience and be able to read music; an informal audition is required. Marble Community Gospel Choir, Stacy Penson, director: Sunday afternoon rehearsals begin September 10th. Includes singing in Worship once a month, the MLK Concert on Sunday, January 14th, and a thrilling Pentecost Celebration on Sunday, May 20th. Singers of all backgrounds or levels of experience are welcome! To discuss membership or schedule an audition please contact Stacy Penson and/or the music administrator, Derek Weagle.
The Marble Choir, directed by Kenneth Dake, is a 24-voice professional ensemble made up of some of the finest collaborative singers in the Tri-State area. Positions are filled by competitive auditions held periodically throughout the season and each Spring. The Marble Choir season runs Labor Day through Memorial Day, and in addition to weekly worship services the choir will be featured in Marble’s Advent Concert on Sunday, December 10th, and a special Earth Day Concert on Sunday, April 22nd. Applicants should demonstrate extensive choral experience, along with exceptional musicianship, tone, communicative skill and sight-reading ability.
