Women’s Retreat: “Faith Igniting Service”

Join the Women’s Ministry Leadership Team and spiritual directors Rev. Damaris D. Whittaker, Rev. Susanah Wade, Rev. Brittany Hanlin, Rev. J. Elise Brown, and Nina Frost for a weekend of prayer, meditation and worship, a keynote talk, uplifting music and workshops, one-on-one spiritual counseling, swimming and free time to enjoy each other’s company. A chartered bus takes you from Marble Church to the tranquil America’s Keswick Retreat Center in Whiting, NJ.

Departure Times:

  • Friday at 5:30pm: Bus departs from the Marble Loft; arrives retreat center at 8:00pm (approx.)
  • Sunday: Retreat concludes after morning worship and bus returns to the Marble Loft.

Cost:
Early Bird pricing by February 14

  • **SOLD OUT** Double Occupancy with Private Bath: $250 per person – $285 after February 14
  • **SOLD OUT** Single Occupancy with Shared Hall Bath (limited number of rooms): $275 per person – $310 after February 14

Fee includes lodging and transportation, Saturday breakfast through Sunday breakfast (4 meals), facility use charges, supplies and gratuities.

Facilitators:
Rev. Dr. Damaris D. Whittaker is ordained in the United Church of Christ and serves as Senior Minister of Fort Washington Collegiate Church. She is passionate about social justice advocating for racial justice, LGBTQ equality, immigration reform, women’s leadership, universal healthcare, and affordable housing. She has a spirit-led style of preaching in English and Spanish that reflects the cultural diversity of her congregations.

Rev. Susanah Wade is an Associate Minister who leads Marble’s Missions & Outreach program. She holds degrees from Baruch College, New York Law School, and Drew Theological Seminary with a focus on spiritual formation. She is the mother of Kelsanah and an immigrant who was born on the island of Montserrat in the West Indies.

Rev. Brittany Juliette Hanlin
is an Associate Minister at Marble and pastor to the Children, Youth & Families Ministry. She graduated from Howard University in Washington, DC, and earned her M.Div. degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School. Brittany is devoted to providing authentic and effective pastoral care to children and youth.

Rev. J. Elise Brown, Ph.D, will lead Sunday morning worship and Nina H. Frost will be available for one-on-one spiritual conversation and counseling.

Location
America’s Keswick Retreat Center in Whiting, New Jersey.
Double and a few Single Rooms are available (discount for registering before February 14). Enjoy delicious buffets, family-style meals and attentive service. An indoor multipurpose Activity Center offers a competition-size heated swimming pool, hot tub and sauna, weight and fitness room, and a large gymnasium. Or take a stroll around the lake, follow nature trails and find a bench to relax and meditate.
