Film Night: “Minari”- Online
Gather online to watch the award-winning film Minari, a tender and sweeping story about what roots us. Minari follows a Korean-American family that moves to an Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, but incredibly loving grandmother. Amidst the instability and challenges of this new life in the rugged Ozarks, Minari shows the undeniable resilience of family and what really makes a home.
The film earned six Academy Award nominations, and for her performance as the spiky grandmother, actress Youn Yuh-jung won a 2021 SAG Award, British Academy Film Award, and Academy Award.
Minari is praised for being “exactly the movie we need right now.” A story of how togetherness and love for family can overcome any odds no matter how insurmountable they are. The “exceptional cast pushes the limits of their family dynamic, as well as our hearts."
