Skipping from Ashes to Lilies
Skipping from ashes to lilies
Parables to miracles
A Midrash in a Mezuzah
Light on my feet
Light in my eyes
Light in my heart
Bliss carries me,
Fed with fishes and loaves,
a chance to sit in swirling waters
walking out into forgiveness, Sent out, Siloam,
without blame on mom and dad or thee.
Sparked by secret messages scrolled in the dust,
no stone left unturned
floating toward healing and a new direction, Repentance.
Light on my feet
Light in my eyes
Light in my heart
I only walk where He leads
to witness the joy,
the saving Grace
the compassion.
I resist the warnings.
Ignorance of
how this story ends
keeps me skipping
through a resurrection in friendship,
a humble bathing of beloveds.
A Holy Promise
Of an Advocate?
I don’t understand the need
while
“He walks with me,
He talks with me
and tells me that I am His own”.
Skipping from ashes
I don’t understand
To lilies
I’ve never known.
“I know where I have come from,
And where I am going.
You do not”,
Until the palm branches are laid
And the ‘table is set’
I hold His hand
And skip in delight
In belief
That I am ‘safe and secure',
And can ‘lean on His everlasting arms’
Here and now.
No worry about
Where these ashes came from.
“As long as I am in the world,
I am the light of the world.”
Please don’t go! Ever!
