“Light is The Hopeful Wonders Within.”

Rev. Dr. Michael Edwards, Executive Minister
RCA Regional Synod of New York

As we begin the Season of Advent, we reflect on the light of Hope. We are filled with the anticipated wonders of hope even amid disturbance in our Christian Walk. A Walk filled with a season of light as we walk through brokenness, decisions, uncertainties, anxieties, and other troubling moments in our being. A hope despite the darkness in our valley walk, to rediscover the recollection of Mary’s Song of Hope, as darkness filled her surroundings. Her light shined forth to Good News and praise of wonders of the hope we need to be reminded of in our struggles for human fulfillment, especially with our families and church communities. Yes, we are walking in the Advent season, reliving the stories learned in our childhood, and rehearsing those Christmas songs of expectation. This wonderous Light prepares the revelation of renewal in our spirit and gave hope that led to mystical gifts in our Christian journey to “Rose Castle” for Missional engagement, to experience a different light, which gave hopeful expectation of Peace and Reconciliation.

Light within reminisces hope, which strengthens our resolve and evokes our vision and mission to serve with gladness. We encourage one another with words of Hope, as the light is tearing in lamentation within our spirits. Words of hope bring healing and teaching to the emptiness within our witness to become servants of the High Calling that lead to testimonies of change, and restoration hope as Jesus rebirths luminescent joy within our souls for another Advent hopeful light!

Prayer: Lord help us see your light and be hopeful as we encourage others to see the light within our hopeful walk. Amen
