Helping Humanity Rise
During Lent, many people choose to give something up, but no sacrifice we make could compare to what Christ has sacrificed for us. Our blog will share stories, poems, artwork, spoken word, music, etc.. about kindness, the backbone of helping humanity rise. Our stories this year will be from children, young adults, families, and all ages, as we reach out beyond our Women’s Ministry to find these moments of kindness.
Be Kind to One Another
This year's Lenten Blog theme is based on the book by Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, Just Help! How to Build a Better World. Jesus asks us to be the light in this world.
Am I an Artist?
My answer would be an immediate and resounding no. This year’s Marble Women’s Advent blog theme is, “Art is the highest form of hope.” I certainly believe that and I also believed that since I’m not an artist, I had no hope of submitting anything.
The Gift of "The Littlest Angel"
In my childhood during Advent, our Dad loved reading to us "The Littlest Angel" by Charles Tazewell. It always moved me to tears, and gave this timid child hope to be brave about who God made me to be.
Soul Soil
“Soil is everything.” Thus declared my niece as our family gathered to celebrate the harvest season at Thanksgiving this year. And she should know, as a newly minted environmental scientist, having just graduated this month from the University of Maryland. Proud Auntie aside, I found that her statement got me thinking a lot about a very dirty subject.
