Fathers and Sons

The following three letters represent three generations of a family. A father to his father and Manny's two sons.

Letter #1:

To my departed father,

Long have I reminisced about the times you were here. Not so great times as far as I can remember. I wish you could see me now, what I've become. What I've accomplished. How I've made it. How I'm raising my sons. Things I'm sure that would make you proud. I can't promise what the future holds, but I can say I will do more.

Love,
Manny

Letter #2:

Dear Googie,

My favorite stuffed animal. From the beginning all the way to the present I will still stay with you. Ever since my Dad won you from the carnival game, I knew it was destined to be. Even after the nightmares, you stuck with me. I will never forget that. I would never trade you for anything else in my life. Never. Thanks for being my friend.

Your Buddy,
Lucas, Age 13

Letter #3:

Dear Friend,

How’s life in Japan? I hope you are having fun with all the attractions, arcades, and foods over there. Life is all the same; the lights, the trees, the Christmas spirit, you can’t miss it! Especially the Christmas music–you could hear it anywhere you have been walking since November! I wonder what the weather is like in Japan. As you know, the weather in the city is continuing to grow colder as each day passes and increasing the chance of snow. Hopefully we get snow unlike last year’s unfortunate outcome. Oh! I literally forgot! I just wanted to ask if you knew how to say “hello” in Japanese. Thank you and Happy Holiday’s!

Merry Christmas,
Your Buddy, Jake, Age 13
